Easter Information

Good Friday Service: On Friday, April 19, at 7:00pm we will gather to mark Christ’s crucifixion and death on the cross. Childcare is unavailable.
Easter: Easter will be a morning full of celebration! We’ll have breakfast at 9:15am and an Easter egg hunt for kids through 5th grade at 9:45am. At 10:30am we’ll gather in the auditorium to celebrate our risen Savior in worship. Children’s classes through preschool will be held at 10:30am; elementary and up will attend worship with their families. No 9:15am classes for children, youth, or adults.

Discover GPBC: Date Change

Want to know more about our church – what we believe, our history, how our values shape our outreach, becoming a member, and more? That's what Discover GPBC is all about! Come explore what makes this faith community unique on Sunday, May 5, from 12 to 2:30pm in the Portland Rm. We’ll enjoy lunch together, introduce you to key church leaders, orient you to GPBC, and give you a chance to ask questions. Free! Lunch is provided. RSVP here or on Sunday's welcome card. Compassion Clinic

Compassion Clinic is coming on Saturday, May 18, 8am-3pm at Wilson High. We still need lots more volunteers. For more information or to see the teams and sign up, click here.  Although the clinic is free to guests, it costs about $32/person. Please give to sponsor guests (online or by check in the offering).

New Adult Class—S.H.A.P.E.

Discover God’s unique purpose for your life based on the way God has shaped you. He made you marvelously unique for a reason. Tap into that reason and into the secrets of your own deeply personal makeup—the remarkable ensemble of passions, talents, experiences, temperament, and spiritual gifts that work together to make you who you are. Class begins Sunday, April 28 at 9:15am in the Portland Room.

Aging Well and Planning For the Future

Premier presents seven relevant and practical seminars that address prevailing concerns of our day. Sessions are presented by industry professionals. Be sure to mark Saturday, April 27, 9am-1pm on your calendars. You can choose three sessions. Cost is $5 in advance or $6 at the door. Register in the lobby on Sundays or online anytime. Ignite Variety Show Fundraiser

Set aside Sunday, May 5, 5:30-8pm for a wildly fun event to raise money for the Ignite youth summer mission trip to Agassiz, Canada. Free dinner and great entertainment! RSVP here right away at or in the lobby. Don’t miss this great evening!

Kids Day Camp

Kids Day Camp, for kids four years old through 5th grade, July 8 through 12, will help kids grow closer to Jesus and build relationships between SW Portland families and the local church. Register online. $10/child (includes t-shirt). We need lots of volunteers for a smooth-running, fun camp experience. Please sign up here to volunteer.

Women’s Summer Study

God's focus on food in the Bible is meant to do more than satisfy your stomach. It’s meant to heal your soul and draw you closer to Christ. This spiritual adventure could change the way you read the Bible forever...and the way you approach every meal. Let’s taste and see God’s goodness as we go on a culinary exploration of Scripture together this summer on Tuesday evenings, June 11 through July 23, 6:30-8:30pm in the Deschutes Room. Cost is $25. All Church Campout

Our annual all church campout is August 2-4 at Barton Park, in Clackamas County. $70 secures your space for a tent or an RV to enjoy the GPBC community for a weekend of activities and rest. Register online. Lobby registration starts soon!

Manna Ministry

Manna Ministry is part of our Care Ministry and makes meals available to those in crisis. We’d love to have your help. Could you prepare an entrée to be frozen as part of our meal inventory? Could you be on-call to make a meal? If cooking is not what you do, money can be donated for someone to purchase a meal (no amount is too small). please contact Laura McDonald at 503.753.4179 if you can help in any of these ways or with questions.

Marriage Mentors

We at GPBC have a heart to strengthen marriages. Marriage Mentors are couples in stable, strong marriages who want to help other couples have healthy marriages. Although mentors are not licensed counselors, all receive training and provide significant support for couples in any relationship stage. Don't hesitate to reach out if your relationship is experiencing difficult challenges or you just want to experience renewal and refreshment. Fill out this form to start the process.

The Pantry of Greater Portland

Are you or anyone you know in need of food assistance? We invite you to “shop” at our food pantry on Saturdays at 1:30pm. The pantry also accepts non-perishable food donations at any time. Drop donations off at the information booth in the lobby or at the office. Thank you!

Domestic Abuse: Free Faith-Based Class

The Oasis Bible Study is a free faith-based study to help educate and bring healing to women who are victims or survivors of domestic abuse. Any woman is welcome at any time, even if she just wants to learn more about domestic abuse to help others. This class is being held in Washington County.
